I'm just looking around at the Facebooks of people I went to high school with. They all have 200 + friends. I only have 41 total and I don't even talk to about 30 of the 40. I feel like such a loser. I'm terrible at making/keeping friends.
How do people get so many friends on Facebook?
Here is what I've always thought... I'd rather have 2 REALLY good, awesome friends that I know I can always count on than have a ton of fake friends. It's very hard to find a good friend so if you have even just one consider yourself very lucky! :)
Reply:I don't have anywhere near that many friends either. My guess is they randomly added people friends of friends and so on. No way they can talk to that many people. I think I talk to maybe about 10 of my facebook friends on a regular basis.
Reply:'Friend' is used so loosely these days. I look at my Facebook and there is not even ONE person on there I can truly call my friend. There are about 4-5 I could call 'close acquaintances' and the remaining are people who I just happen to know.
Reply:Mate, ive only got like 20 friends on facebook, and some of them i dont talk to lol!! Who cares? Its not the quantity, its the quality. Your not a loser!!
Reply:I have 8 friends there and I really don't feel like loser!!! come on!!
Reply:depends how many friends you know.
Reply:depending on how many people you know, i've seen people who have over a 1000 friends.
Reply:Honestly, sociology has suggested that there are limits to how many good freinds one can have. It is speculated to be around 25, after that, it just gets way too hard to keep track of everyone that closely.
So, this tells me most of them add friends they either don't know personally or only met once or twice. I only have about 50 friends myself, but lately I've been linking up with people I JUST met, and that's how people end up getting 400+ friends. Most of my friends are that way.
Reply:join groups and search more for friends
Reply:I only have 10! I don't mind.

Do people know when I've viewed their facebook profile?
So out of curiousity (I'm NOT stalking) I've checked out the facebooks of some people from school. Now they seem to give me strange looks when I see them. I don't have traksor or trackbot or any of those applications...do they know when I've looked at their profile?
Do people know when I've viewed their facebook profile?
nooo!!!
Reply:No,
It says right in the Facebook help files.
"Can people know you viewed their profile?
No."
Reply:Nope, Facebook won't allow it. You're probably just noticing these looks since it's that "guilty concious in the back of your head" kinda thing. :)
I thought the same thing after I saw people after looking at their Facebooks.
Reply:no they can't know, facebook doesn't have that application
just ask them what the problem is.
Don't worry, its not from facebook
Reply:no
Reply:Nope, there is no way anyone can know if you've been looking at their profiles. Even if you have one of those programs that claim it does that, they don't work.
And maybe they're giving you strange looks cause you're looking at THEM strangely...? Think about it.
Reply:No.
Reply:They do now.
Reply:Nope, that's impossible as of right now, since there are no applications that do anything like that.
Reply:No, they do not.
Facebook will show other people specific actions you have done primarily to writing on a wall of joining a network or group.
If you are just browsing around Facebook, they will not tell anyone where you are browsing, whether it is users or apps or groups or networks.
You can breathe easy!

Does anyone else feel this way...?
that people with facebooks are people who grew out of myspce..
plz give me feedback
Does anyone else feel this way...?
No. I like myspace because it's what my brother and sister use, and they're pretty much my best friends. And I can be more creative with it rather than having my profile look the same as everyone else's. However, I'm not on it that often either, because even though I like it better than facebook, I prefer messenger or the phone, since in person isn't usually an option since one lives in Louisiana and the other is in Washington.

High school depression..yeah right. help please?
These days at my school, everyone's all depressed and they say they're going to commit suicide and they put this on their facebooks and profiles and then they come to school the next day with bandages on their arms and when people ask about them, they just say they don't want to talk about it. And then later, they're complaining about how nobody cares about them and how their heartbroken. Just recently, my parents got a divorce and my mom's been trying really hard to get a job and I told my friends this and they felt sorry at the moment and then a day later, they're complaining about how their boyfriends broke up with them(again) and I think they've already forgotten whats going on with me. I need someone to talk to. What should i do? thanks if you're actually reading this.

You can talk to me. Or do you have a school councilor?
Its not that your friends dont care about you, its just that they are too involved with whats going on in thier lives, and what seems most important to them right now concerns only themselves, they still care about you but if they are not in the same position as you are, then they will have trouble identifing with you and your problems. Also keep talking to your friends, let them know whats happening with you and maybe if one or two of them are closer than the others, tell them you need thier help to get through this. That way they will know that you need help and advice and hopefully be there for you. As for the divorce - just remember to love both your parents even if they cant love each other anymore, they both Love you even if its a bit hard to see that just now.

You can actually talk to someone live that can help you with the high school problems. When I was in school I went to this site often.
Good luck and life always gets better some how.
Reply:Teenagers are often self-involved.
Having said that, it seems like a lot of kids are having trouble these days (with depression).
I struggled with it for a long time. it was the worst in high school.
I know this sounds so banal but have you thought about seeing a therapist? I'm not talking about a psychologist who will diagnose you or a psychiatrist who will prescribe something but more like a psychoanalyst or even a school counselor who might be able to refer you to someone. I KNOW what it's like to need someone to talk to when nobody is available.
Take care of yourself.
Reply:Poor litle girl you are dealing with the seperation of your parents Ita so sad no children should go through this I am not surprised your friends are not giving yuo any support adults are doing the same thing Is there apaster you can trust and confide your sorrow or your school conseler Be st rong and ask the good LOrd to help you

Any theories on MySpace users often being rude?
I work in a small library and we have only 6 public computers. Only 2 of these computers are unfiltered (meaning only 2 can get on MySpace). There is a huge demand for the computers and I would bet 85% of people who come in to use the computers are here to check their MySpace accounts (not many Facebooks or the like, but MySpace). This is fine but they are loud, rude, their cell phones are going off and they try to talk on them (despite the giant signs next to the computer that you don't even have to be able to read to understand since it's a cellphone with a line through it), and give total attitude and even cuss us out under their breath when their time is up and someone else is waiting.
Any theories? MySpace and rudeness seem to possess an inherent connection.

People don't got no moral values anymore.
:-P
Reply:Myspace and rudeness? Try humanity and rudeness?
It's an inherent human quality to lack the moral values to appreciate living in a nation where devastating violence doesn't harm a large portion of the population. Even if this is posted from a place where that does occur there are still no more moral values with one's life on the line.
If one stops to realize how society around the world is crumbling one would come to appreciate life enough not to waste it holding themselves high on a pedestal where they don't belong.
Hang in there and if possible enforce the rules a bit harder, kick people out for that sort fo behavior. I mean people like that don't deserve courtesy anymore than they show it.

Should I worry about it or not think to much about it ...help please :)?
My boyfriend has been messaging this girl on facebook (that doesn't really bother me because he talks to a lot of his friends doing that and at first I just thought of it as him talking to his friends..) But I have his password (he knows this..he has mine too and we go on each others facebooks.) and I was looking at his messages with her and she started flirting and then he sent her one wishing her luck at a game she had then next thing I know she "poked" him..and I have no way of knowing if he started that or if she did..it bothers me beacause for the next few weeks I have no way of contacting him and so I know they wont be talking.
He always says he loves me and how he wants to be with me forever but this just kind of bothers me. Last time I talked to him I hinted that I didn't really like it and he said he was going to stop talking to her but he hasn't gotten back on so I don't know if he is really going to do that.
Should I just chill about it or talk some more to him when we can?

Reply:You can't change his behavior. If you aren't comfortable with it. Break up with him, b/c he won't stop, he will just be sneakier about it. You are only a gj not a wife so you have no right to demand he stop, but don't stay if you can't handle it.
Reply:i know its temptint but stop snooping unless you are prepared to deal with what you find.
Reply:just relax, if he loves you as much as he says he does then he'll stop talking to her

Why won't facebook add my school?
Me and a ton of other people keep on e-mailing facebook, asking them to add our school to the network thing so we can have facebooks and make it easier to find people than look around local schools to see if someone signed up with them. People have been doing it for a while now, and still nothing.
What gives?
Why won't facebook add my school?
they should have all highschools and colleges. you can also use facebook and say "no network" anyways. just use myspace.
Reply:No idea. I have asked them to add homeschool (I'm sure I'm not the only one) and they still haven't.
Thankfully I'm in college now so I don't have to LIE about my school.
Reply:In all honesty, that's up to Facebook and it is at their choice and discretion if they want to add it. There's not much you can do besides wait after you suggest it. :/ I suggest you don't get annoying about it (individual requesting more than once), otherwise it may take longer. They'll do it when/if they want. Maybe they have what they consider "more important" things to do before they do that? Sorry, I know it sucks. Just join no network or a regional network, I guess. Good luck.
Reply:First of all, Facebook only adds Junior High Schools, High Schools, and Colleges. If your school is an elementary School, case closed. If not, I have a more in-depth explanation. Your school has to consent its approval to have itself on Facebook. I would suggest talking to a Head Administrator of your school district.
