Because of facebooks poor security, someone keeps hacking my friends acct...how can i find out their IP addres

a computer geek coworker of a friend of mine (they dated) somehow got my friend's (girl) password, hacked the account, posted lies and mean things (like she's a "whore")...anyways, she got facebook to change the linked email and password, but somehow this guy either got the password, or got facebook to change it again...





she's talked to lawyers etc, and they said she'd have to somehow prove this guys IP is changing the facebook page, or linked to the new email adress he linked to the facebook acct...anyone know how we can find this guys IP? we've tried talking to facebook, and they won't help...The fake email was a gmail...we've tried with them, and no luck either

If You or Your friend are no Admin at Facebook You cannot find IPs on their servers/logs.





BTW Does the suspect have a static IP? Do You know this IP?





Why? Few private ppl have/own a static IP.





IPs are dynamically allocated by the providers when You connect/dial in to the Internet. So an IP would normally just tell You the provider's name. Providers do not give Your friend info about who has had a specific IP on a specific date and time. Such info is given to police ... .





IMHO it boils down to what Your friend can do to prevent future infringements.





1.) Your friend makes sure that she has no hidden spy-ware e.g. a key logger on her PC.


2.) Your friend generates and uses a secure password for her account. E.g. Roboform A.) ships with a tool to generate secure passwords.
