Facebook...?

Is facebook safer than myspace? I don't like myspace, but some of my friends have facebooks and I wondered if I should get one? Opinions please!

Facebook...?
I feel facebook is a lot safer, at least at the colligate level, because you need a valid .edu address to obtain access to your school's "network"
Reply:I don't like my-space and yes I do have a facebook..I really like it.

I feel it is, of course there are always exceptions because only you can ensure your safety by BEING SAFE and making the right decisions. I only have close friends able to view my account and I don't accept just anyone's invite...

Ultimately, the final decision should be yours..if you want one, get one for you not just because your friends have one.
Reply:it is SUPPOSED to be safer but it is NOT. anything that is posted on the internet (facebook, xanga, myspace, etc), is surrounded by predators.

i do not recommend either. i heard not to long on the news ago a guy saw a uniform of a cheerleader and he zoomed in on the pic, found out the name of the school, found her, raped and killed her. i heard a similar story to that about myspace as well.
Reply:Yes it is,U should get one....

Most people have both...
Reply:I don't know if I'd say either of them are safer than the other. You are putting information about yourself on the internet for everyone to see. On both myspace and facebook you can adjust your privacy settings to only allow certain people to see your page. I have accounts on both, and have them set to friends only so no one else can see my information, pictures, and what I say.
Reply:I think facebook is safer then myspace and there are some fun application I have found very useful

To add a friend, Search to find people you know!!! that's mean - unknown people can't contact you

And I have found privacy settings may limit your ability to see the "Add to Friends" link for some users
Reply:I've never heard of it
Reply:myspace is safer than facebook with facebook your friends can read private messages exc. exc. with myspace you can hide more stuff

myspace is safer

but

facebook seems a little funner
